Because we just ended our series of the happy chemicals we know how we can be happy and because we are happy we would like to clap along with this song from Pharrell Williams. This American singer and musician perform under the producer duo The Neptunes and the band N*E*R*D.
Williams gained fame in the late nineties because he wrote songs with his friend Chad Hugo and produced them under the name The Neptunes. They did this for Britney Spears (I’m A Slave 4 U, 2001), Jay-Z (Excuse Me Miss, 2002), Nelly (Hot In Herre, 2002) and Justin Timberlake (the album Justified, 2002). He also formed the band N * E * R * D with Chad Hugo and Shay Haley, with which he scored hits like She Wants To Move and Provider. Williams also has a number of hits to his name. Together with Snoop Dogg he made Beautiful (2003) and Drop It Like It’s Hot (2004) and together with Jay-Z Frontin (2003). On 24 July 2006, his album In My Mind was released. The singles released were Can I have it like that (together with Gwen Stefani in October 2005), Angel (January 2006) and Number One (together with Kanye West in June 2006). In 2007 Williams worked with Madonna on her album Hard Candy and on the song The Beat Goes On. He appeared in 2008 in her video clip for the second single of that album, Give It 2 Me. Williams has his own clothing brand called Billionaire Boys Club (BBC) and also a clothing brand called Ice Cream. He designs bags and hats for the Louis Vuitton brand. He regularly wears clothes from his friend Nigo from Japan, Bathing Ape (BAPE). In 2010, Williams was in charge of the music of the film Despicable Me together with Hans Zimmer. In 2013, Williams worked on the new Daft Punk album, Random Access Memories, for which he, among others, introduced Lucky. He also worked on the single Blurred Lines, together with Robin Thicke and T.I. In the same year, he released the single Happy. This song became a worldwide hit. In the Netherlands Happy was for 49 weeks in the Top 40. It was the most successful song in the history of this hit list. At the end of 2014, Williams got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. On 9 February 2016, it became known that Pharell Williams became co-owner of the Dutch clothing brand G-Star.
